22 days and counting!

Hey! It’s me, Patty, one of Dustin’s bloggers.

31 days blog is now down to 22 days and counting!  Things are going great!  Last week I did my darndest to stay away from sugar, sweets, junk.  I did great all week except for Friday when we attended the UND Sioux hockey game like we do for every home game, and my son just had to have carmel popcorn!  So – a little slip there.  I am tracking again on Spark to make sure I’m getting the protein I need, as that is always a struggle to keep up.  I am back to using the Prograde protein after workouts and also tried the Prograde Meal Replacement and LOVED IT!  Yesterday while running errands and getting groceries all day, I brought my small cooler with 15 ounces of milk and a serving of the meal replacement and around lunch time had this while going here and there and it was great!   Workouts are going great as usual with my group M-F mornings.  I’m down a few pounds and feeling great!  Funny how clean eating can change how you feel so much! 

My challenge to myself and to you, is to check out Clean Eating website, pick on meal and try it this week.  I am going to try one new recipe from Clean Eating every week – not just me, but my entire family.  Actually, my menu this week has several Clean Eating recipes!  My son told me this weekend when I was sitting down with my Clean Eating magazines and books making out the week’s menu and grocery list “Mom – I really don’t like broccoli, but I eat it because it’s good for me and because Brady (brother) and Dad don’t like it.” 

Yesterday was a much needed trip to the grocery store and after making out the weeks’ menu this weekend and the grocery list, I break down the grocery list in categories, i.e., produce, dairy, breads, etc.  It is SUCH a good feeling and shopping is so much quicker when you shop the outside of the store!  Then I spent most of the rest of the evening cleaning produce, preparing healthy snacks, etc., for a quick grab when out the door or even when at home.  Right now I’m actually craving the sliced cucumbers in the fridge!

    I actually feel a little guilty when I go in the center aisles at the grocery store. It’s like forbidden territory! Haha.

  2. We has CE Catfish with Corn Relish last night..delish!

    Last week we had the Quinoa Stuffed Peppers. Yum!

    Also this week we’ll have the Orange Chipotle Chicken and Thai Spicy Pork Soup.

  3. We had Spicy Feta Turkey Burgers tonight from Oxygen magazine/clean eating, and they are a keeper! Also had sweet potato fries – YUM!

  5. I’m going good too! I’m on your same countdown, and am at a new low. Yeah! I’m also adding more and longer core workouts to my routine and some extra intensity intervals. And, no drinks! (so far) , sugar and cravings are not really a problem for me, the glass of wine etc is what I enjoy, but what is keeping me going is that I know I will be able to have them in the future, adn I am proud of myself for sticking to a temporary strict plan.
