Positive Affirmations

A technique I use for people who are struggling to get over the hump and change some of their negative behaviors, is positive affirmations.  Positive affirmations are sayings that you declare over yourself and over your life in the present tense.  The more you say them and the more you feel them, the more your life will change.  This is because your words will produce action in your life, and that action is what ultimately leads to results.

I challenge you to write out 5 positive affirmations and say them at least 3 times each day.

One of mine that I say is: “everyday and everyway I am getting stronger and stronger!”

Here is a cute little video of a girl saying hers 🙂

What are your favorite affirmations?  Have you tried this technique before?  Has it worked?

  1. Thanks for sharing. Very cute!! Thanks for the reminder as well.
    Have a great weekend!!

  2. Very cute! I bet if we all stood on the bathroom counter and looked closely at what we can not see in the mirror otherwise, that would be a big motivator too – Ha Ha! 🙂 Thanks for sharing Dustin … and I really like my hair and haircuts too. “-) He He

  3. Outstanding, and the energy of delivery too! You get the sense that she kept it going after leaving the room! I’ll be sharing this with a few people 🙂

  4. Jessica RULES! “I like my stuff!” I’ve seen her before but am glad you are bringing her to your audience, Dustin.

  5. “She is so Cute!” I would love to bring her home and coach me every day. If not home for surely to work where she could be my cheering section when I have one of those bad days.

    Thanks Dustin for sharing.

  6. LOVE IT! Great Motivation!

  7. Kathleen Larsen says

LOVE IT! I laughed out loud. I’ll start doing mine 3x a day……… as of TONIGHT!

  8. What a little sweetie….makes me want to hang out at their house-bet it is a happy place with a lot of encouraging words and thankful attitudes, no matter what the circumstances they may be in, huh?!
    A good reminder, Dustin!

  9. I love this! I repeat my positive affirmations while doing my treadmill workout and for some reason, the right, left stepping of my feet is almost like tapping them into my life.

A few of my affirmations are, “I am attracting positive, happy, successful people into my life now and always”.

” I make money easily and effortlessly”

” Good and wonderful things are happening in my world now and always”

    These are just a few!

  10. That was sooo cute!! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  11. I LIKE her! Adorable!

    Two of my favorite quotes:

“Before every day you go to sleep, ask yourself one thing. Did you do every single thing you could today to make sure you did your best? It’s hard to answer ‘yes’ every single day.” – Apollo Anton Ohno (from an Olympics interview that stuck in my head)

“The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance — and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.” – Oprah (from a chocolate wrapper left on my pillow at a hotel, I did eat the chocolate but I saved the wrapper…)

  12. Very cute!
Wish I can play this little girl’s performance everytime and everywhere, especially when facing challenging situations.

Thanks for sharing and have a good Memorial Day weekend.

  13. She’s adorable!

  14. Makes you wonder how awesome her parents are for teaching her to do that…… I think she said “I like my stomach” in there somewhere. WONDERFUL!! Starting out early to accept yourself….try to be your best, of course….but accept yourself and dont play into all the insanely perfect images that you see in the media. I think she will be a healthy female adult with no hang ups about being “perfect” and feeling down on herself!!!

Thanks for sharing that…she is soooo cute and quite an inspiration in positivity!!! I am going to take the challenge and write down some affirmations today 🙂

  15. That was sooo cute!! “Before every day you go to sleep, ask yourself one thing. Did you do every single thing you could today to make sure you did your best?

  1. […] necessarily leads to motivation though. Here is what I took away from Dustin’s post on Positive Affirmations and Motivation from Joe Sweeney Day […]
