Pushup Workout Routine

I want to first congratulate Jody Rindy for winning 1 free year of bootcamp!  We held a 7 week contest for who could recruit the most people to Fit Fun Bootcamp and MamaTone.  Jody blew the competition away with 10 people!  In the

past year she has referred close to 20 clients to my programs.  She is very well deserving of this reward!  She has also lost 59 lbs and is in by far the best shape of her life after having 5 kids!  She tells me she gets asked by so many moms how she has transformed so much the past year.  There isn’t really any secret… she workouts incredibly hard, is consistent 3-4 times/week, and has completely changed her eating habits.

In order for her to receive her prize I make her do 52 pushups, but I didn’t want to make her do it by herself, so I had the help of some of the women in my 5:30 AM McFarland class to join her.

I have talked about my frustrations in previous posts about how many women believe they aren’t capable of doing even 1 pushup!  That is SO ridiculous.  Many of these women couldn’t do a single pushup when they started, but now can do 40-50.  We even had another woman in her mid 40’s do 70 perfect pushups!  When a proper training program that is supported with a balanced nutritional plan, amazing things can happen.  This isn’t the exception, it is the norm.  If you put in the hard work and follow a plan that has worked for hundreds of others, you will get the results!

Click here if you are interested in learning more about Fit Fun Bootcamps. We have many locations around the Madison and surrounding area, and with close to 200 in the various bootcamps, we are the largest bootcamp program around the area!

If you would rather follow a workout plan at home, you might be interested in checking out the Fit Moms For Life DVDs.  I encourage you to check it out.  To make it easier, I am giving the first months DVD and a CD for free.  Just pay for the shipping.  If you decide you like it, you can continue to receive a new DVD each month.  It is like having me in your home taking the guess workout out of what to eat and what exercises to chose, how many sets, how many reps, etc.

  1. I just got my trial CD & DVD yesterday. I am so excited to get going on the program. One of my goals is to be able to do 20 perfect push ups after 1 month of being on the program. Congrats Jody! You are in amazing shape.

  2. I can do about 5 good ones but they are far from perfect. I can’t seem to get as low as Jody does.

  3. Hi!
I also got my trial CD & DVD yesterday and will be doing my first workout tonight! My goal is to do push ups on my toes instead of my knees. I did the P90X series with my husband earlier in the year for a few months which entails a lot of push ups but I always see the women doing them on their knees so I feel I have been brainwashed into thinking that is all we are capable of. Recently I completed a the 6 week Beachbody Slim in 6 workouts and even though I felt a lot better being active I didn’t get the weight loss I desire. Best of luck to everyone with your goals! All the women on this site are an inspiration!

  4. Dustin,
I’ll do that. I might have to ammend my goal to 20 push ups after 1 month and save the perfect part for the 2nd or 3rd month. Thanks for the input.

  5. Jenny,

It will be interesting to see how we both do since we are starting at the same time. I think the nutrition part will be the hardest thing for me to be consistant with. Good Luck! You are right all the women on this site are great inspiration & motivation to stick with it.

  6. Dustin, I’m looking forward to my second DVD! I was in boot camp in Jan/Feb and I’m happy to say that I have continued to do push ups! When I started I was one of the ones that could not do a push up. I’m very happy to have the DVDs to do at home. Thank you Dustin!

  7. Dustin –
The video link did not show up… is it my computer?

52! Wow! I’m setting my next goal to 35 (I got to 27 last test)

    See you friday!

  8. Sheila,

It stopped working! It should be up now.

  9. Hi Donna,
I was happy to see you are also starting with your DVD’s at the same time as me! We will have to keep in touch along the journey. I too struggle with nutrition so I am trying to just make little changes at this point and my goal for the first month is just to be more aware of what is in what I am consuming by reading the labels. I wish you much success!

Fantastic! Congrats Jody, my biggest inspiration. The end of another 4 week boot camp on Friday for me with a mile run, 1 minute push ups and 1 minute sit ups. My goal is 40 pushups in a minute so thank you for the inspiration. when i started 8 weeks ago, I could only do 10.

I am so proud of you Jody!! You look fantastic and are so strong!! Wow! 50 push ups- amazing! You deserve the reward!

  12. You ladies are incredible! This is truly so impressive. You’ve got a good trainer there.

  13. Congratulations, Jody!! You deserve every free week!
So fun, watching you all do those amazing pushups and getting to join you early in the morning by the lake :).
I watched you the whole time, Jody, second time around, and you made them look so easy and effortless that I thought I’m gonna’ try them just for the fun of it-all you bloggers are doing so many already! So, I eeked out 15 REALLY bad ones-Dustin probably wouldn’t even call them a proper pushup :). Well, guess I have my challenge, to do 15 proper ones in a month! Yeah, I so agree, this blog is very inspiring and you gals are so supportive of each other!

  14. You guys are all so nice! 🙂 Personally, I was shocked when Dustin asked me to do this (and THANK YOU for not making me do it alone!!). What a beautiful sight watching so many women of different strengths do push-ups…who knew?! Honestly, I only got about 46 good ones in (does this mean I lose 6 weeks Dustin??). I know I can do 52…I’ll accomplish it this weekend! All of your comments are what keep me going, so thank you! The support is amazing…I am humbled.
