Fit Fun Bootcamps
Tiffany lost over 50 pounds, went from a size 18 to a size 6, and dropped over 30 inches off her body.
Tiffany’s story: Finding time to exercise has been a problem of mine for a long time. I work a full time job as a nurse, and caring for my young kids when I am home doesn’t leave me much time for myself. But I knew that it was important to find a way to fit it in—both for me and for the good of my family.
I decided to join Fit Fun Bootcamps after seeing some of my friends make amazing transformations. It felt like a sacrifice when I got up each morning at 4:30 to drive 40 minutes to Fit Fun Bootcamp, but the rewards and benefits have been staggering. My energy levels are so much higher than before and I even feel great getting up at 4:30 AM—I have energy to make it all day long. I would encourage anybody thinking of trying Fit Fun Bootcamps to definitely give it a try.
In just four months, Todd lost 49 pounds and went from size 38 pants to size 32.
Todd’s story: I love food, so I was never able to shake the extra weight that I’ve carried around on my body for the last 25 years. I became very good at covering up my weight with untucked clothes. But Thanksgiving day was a breaking point for me. I couldn’t button my dress pants and had no back-up plan with me; I spent the entire day with my belt holding up my pants.
In late November I heard Dustin Maher on Wisconsin Public Radio and decided to sign up for Fit Fun Bootcamp. It was the first time I had ever joined a workout group or health club. Halfway through Day 1, my legs were shaking and my arms quivering. The next morning I could not get out of bed and every part of my body hurt. But I decided to go back and prove to myself that I am not a quitter. Sixteen weeks later, I look forward to the challenges of Fit Fun Bootcamps and can’t imagine my week without them. I feel very fortunate to have found Fit Fun Bootcamp and to be able to change my life for the better.
When Jennifer lost 100 pounds in a year, going from a size 22 to a 12, she found her self -confidence. Now Jennifer is a photographer who is no longer hiding behind the camera.
Jennifer’s story: A year ago I was at my highest weight ever. I didn’t work out and I didn’t think much about what I ate. With my 30th birthday coming I made the decision that this was not the way I wanted to live, so I joined Dustin Maher’s Fit Fun Bootcamps.
When I started boot camp, everything felt like a struggle. I could hardly do a push-up, and I would get winded just going upstairs. Now I can do 40 pushups, and run five miles without a problem. But the best part is, I’m so much happier! I have a more positive outlook on life and more confidence in who I am.
Liz lost 60 pounds (going from a size 16 to a 4) and gained a passion for fitness. The mother of two young children, Liz decided to take her health into her own hands and try Dustin’s MamaTone program. Three years later, she is in the best shape of her life and is leaner than she was in high school!
Liz’s story: After I had my second son and he stopped nursing, the weight just kept piling on until, one day, I got on the scale and weighed 203. I knew once I went over 200, I was in trouble! And I wanted to be a better role model for my kids. Plus, how was I going to keep up with two boys under the age of 3 if I didn’t get my act together?
Another mom told me about Dustin’s MamaTone class, and it turned out to be just what I needed to start taking the weight off. In the beginning, the classes were very challenging, but I stayed motivated because I began losing weight right off the bat. My body became leaner everyday and I was shocked at how much stronger I was getting. Now, the classes are still challenging and lots of fun, and the supportive friends I’ve made being a part of MamaTone keep me on track. But what’s even better is that before, I was never very fit or athletic; now I am and I just can’t get enough of Dustin’s classes.
Now fitter than she was in college, Jody lost 64 pounds and is committed to living a healthy lifestyle. A busy mom of 5 kids, including a set of twins, Jody used Dustin’s MamaTone classes and his Fit Fun Bootcamps to get in amazing shape.
Jody’s story: After having my fifth baby, the weight was NOT coming off. I was frustrated with not fitting into my pre-baby clothes. I found out about MamaTone and after trying a complementary class, I was hooked! It was the perfect mix of cardio and weights (something I had never done before), and I was thrilled it wasn’t just the same exercises over and over again. The challenge was not only refreshing but, most importantly, rewarding. Within a short period of time, my husband and I were noticing a difference, and my embarrassment was melting away, literally! I now have added strength, muscle definition throughout my entire body, and energy to keep up with my family. And my pre-baby clothes? They’re way too big!
Sarah lost 25 pounds, whittled over 6 inches from her waist, and kept her equilibrium during a tough time. Sarah, a mother of two, credits MamaTone for getting her through a very difficult period in her life, filled with emotional and physical challenges. Now she looks and feels better than ever.
Sarah’s story: As a runner, I always assumed that just cardio would keep me fit. And it did—until I had kids. After my daughter was born, I lost most of my pregnancy weight. But when she was only a year old, I got pregnant with my son—which was a surprise! After he was born in June 2007, I was carrying about 20 pounds of extra weight. The scale read 138, which doesn’t sound bad—except I’m 5 foot 3! I also felt terribly overwhelmed by having two kids under two years old, along with a demanding career and other health problems.
I started MamaTone twice a week when my son was 6 months old, and I haven’t stopped since. The weight came off quickly and after just one year, I was down to 120 pounds. Around that time, I started dealing with a very traumatic separation and divorce. Continuing at MamaTone was—and is!—a huge part of my survival.
Today, I am 113 pounds, and while I still run for stress relief, I go to MamaTone religiously 3 to 4 times a week. Dustin’s classes are different every week and it’s a lot of fun to be in a room full of people with the same goal. The fitness level varies widely, but he manages to make the class easy enough for a new face, but tough enough for someone like me who’s been coming for years. The exercise, the friends, and knowing that I can do more push ups and pull ups than most guys out there keep me coming back!

By losing 20 pounds, Donna reduced her body fat by 10%, and went from a size 6 to a size 2. At age 48, Donna is in the best shape of her life. She used Dustin’s Fit Moms for Life DVD’s to make some great physical and mental changes—and now uses them to stay in amazing shape.
Donna’s story: I used to do some strength training, but the heaviest dumbbells I had were 10 lbs. My cardio consisted of walking occasionally, using an elliptical machine, and riding my bike 12-18 miles a week. I thought that I was in pretty good shape but I still didn’t feel as good as I wanted to, so I decided to give one of Dustin’s FM4L DVD’s a try. I was skeptical that I would be able to lift heavier weights, but now I use dumbbells up to 30 lbs! Even better, I got rid of most of the pre-menopause symptoms I had, and went from sleeping 9 hours a night and still feeling tired to sleeping 7-8 hours a night and I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. Even my outlook has changed; now I’ll try stuff I never would have before. I’m not afraid of failing, because doing the DVDs showed me that if I try hard enough I can do anything I want.
Becky cut her body fat percentage in half, lost 50 pounds, and went from a size 18 to a size 4, while overcoming many health challenges. Even while dealing with chronic health issues—both hers and one of her children’s—Becky has managed to radically transform her body by lifting heavy weights with Dustin’s program.
Becky’s story: I won’t go into my whole medical history, but the short version is: I have lupus, arthritis, endometriosis, hypothyroidism, celiac disease, and migraines. I also have a chronically ill son, and I had postpartum depression after he was born. So, believe me, I have plenty of excuses not to work out! And since I can’t do traditional cardio because of my knees, most programs don’t work for me. But with Dustin’s program, I can keep my heart rate in the aerobic range through strength training. It’s amazing how my body has totally transformed despite my ongoing medical problems. And so has my mood and energy level—now I’m able to be active and do things with my kids. That might not sound like a big deal to some, but to someone in my position, it’s amazing.
