Workouts At The Office and Desk

One of the most common questions I get asked is “What are some good exercises to do at work?”  It makes sense that since you spend close to 9 or more hours at work, you should find some ways to stay active.  I have a couple clients who have successfully started to do one minute of intense exercise every hour.  They set a timer and when it goes off they do a minute of some type of bodyweight exercise.

Then at the end Angie shows a great example of a 1 arm pushup, I challenge you to give it a try as well and let me know if you can do it!

    Re: exercises at your desk, I have a fitball in my office that I use for some exercises. Sometimes I sit on it for a few minutes to do certain tasks. People sometimes enter my office and want to use it, but I don’t always let them because I’m not sure they know how to use it.

  4. Excellent! Another new goal. Angie you have really good form (and posture!), you really held your body straight during those one-handed push-ups–you must have abs of steel. Now what will your next goal be? Could be just about anything I think! 🙂

  5. That is awesome Angie!! I used to do 16 on each arm in college 10 years ago or so. It is such a great feeling! My husband always bragged about how I used to be able to do them but he had never seen me, so when I started boot camp at the beginning of the year, that was my goal too! After 6 weeks of bootcamp, I was able to do 2 on each arm. Now almost a year later I can do several on each arm again! With 5 kids, 3 of whom are boys, I love to be able to do something that they think is impressive:) Thanks Dustin for whipping me back into shape!!

    I had my first taste of working with those new bands this week at Abby’s bootcamp. They are amazing! So much resistance and so much versatility. I might have to invest in a pair so I can have one at work and at home. Thanks for showing us some more great examples of how easy it is to incorporate movement and fitness into our day to day lives.
