I used to make baby food by microwaving veggies with a little water then using the cooking water to puree them. I frozen the puree in covered ice cube trays. You could do the same thing here. That would make it easy to just throw in a couple cubes of squash when your making spaghetti sauce, for instance.

After my kids and husband didn't eat the last batch of roasted veggies I made that were heavy on sweet potatoes and squash, I added it to spaghetti sauce as a puree with spinach and carrots (1/3 puree, 2/3 sauce). They all LOVED it! I'm planning on being sneaky more often. I've also made brownies sneaking in the veggies -- people were shocked at the added ingredients after having them - couldn't even tell they were in there because of the strong chocolate taste :) Thanks, Joy, for another great post!

I made the carrot and spinach brownies a few weeks ago and my 4 year old and 1 year old gobbled them up. They were a little dry, but overall enjoyable. My 4 year old kept asking for seconds!
