What Are You Thankful For?

As Thanksgiving approaches, it is a great time to reflect back on the past 6 months to a year and reflect on all the great things that have happened to us. You might be someone going through tough times right now, but even those who are going through tough times have things to be thankful for.
I have been called by some, a forever optimist and been asked if I ever get sad. The answer is yes I do, but I try not to stay in that place of sadness. Just remember, there is someone else out there in the world that has it worse than you, and life has its seasons, and everyone will experience some winters, but spring and summer is just around the corner!
I am asking you to do me a favor and reply to this post and give me 5 things that you are thankful for. This will not only help you realize all the great things that you have, but will also be an encouragement to everyone who reads the blog.
I will lead by example and give you 5 things I am thankful for!
#1 I am thankful that I have a career that I am so deeply passionate about, in which I get up each morning at 5 AM excited for the day, knowing that I just might be that one bright spot in a person’s day, or knowing that I have had an impact in a person’s life by helping them get in great shape. I am thankful for the times I lay in bed thinking of the next program or idea that I can create to help more and more people get in shape.
#2 I am thankful for a family and parents that speak the truth and isn’t afraid of offending me. (my mom has told me when she doesn’t think a blog post of mine is appropriate
) I am also thankful that they support me in my endevours and support me as I take the path less traveled.
#3 I am thankful for a body that can take me where I want to go and allow me to experience all that this great world has to offer. I am thankful for the enormous amount of knowledge I have been able to learn about the body the past 8 years and how I am able to apply it to myself.
#4 I am thankful for my spirituality that gives me a deeper and more lasting perspective on life on earth.
#5 I am thankful for everyone of my clients that I get to see each week. They motivate me, inspire me, and keep me pumped up and encouraged! I look forward to so much more with everyone!
It was hard just to narrow it down to 5, but now it is your turn! Reply to this message and share what you are thankful for!
Keep moving,
Dustin Maher

Happy Thanksgiving Dustin!
At your request, here are five things I am thankful for.
#1 Being a new mom. Having a child has been my most rewarding and amazing life experience yet. I absolutely adore my son.
#2 My health. Altough I am not in the best shape of my life, Dustin is helping me work on that, overall I am healthy.
#3 My husband. He is an amazing father and I love him dearly.
#4 I am thankful to have a flexible and secure job in these tough economic times.
#5 Dustin and his MamaTone class. I am confident that Dustin is going to help me get back into the shape I want and need to be in. My 16 month old is now 29lbs and I need to be in shape to carry him around.
Thanks Dustin. It has been a joy working with you so far and I look forward to getting to know you and my own body better in the coming months.

#1 For my parents – everything good in my life started with them!
#2 My health and the health of my family – it’s everything, and I try never to take it for granted.
#3 My husband for his love and support – he is a dedicated faithful husband and a great father!
#4 My Sons Sam,9 and Max, 6 – They add so much fun to my life!
#5 Having a job that I like (most of the time) where I get to help kids and that also allows me to have time with my family.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

Mom’s Thankful list:
1). I am thankful that we live in a land that started this celebration right at the start, and that we continue to be free to celebrate our thankfulness to God for our abundant blessings, and recognize that He is our source!
2). I am thankful to have been blessed for almost 30 years with a GREAT guy, Dustin’s dad, who loves his family with all his heart and takes care of all of us in a thousand different ways every day!!
3). I am thankful for our son, Dustin, who continues to walk out that calling and passion in his life, with integrity and excitement, and who blesses not only us, his proud parents, but everybody around him with his zest for life and serving others!!
4). I am thankful for Dustin’s 2 younger brothers and one sister, who keep him firmly rooted in reality and keep him humble, like siblings can so ably do as none other!
5). I am thankful for good health–in the morning, when the bed is so warm, I thank
God that I CAN get up; not everybody can do that…..and to that end, thankful for a son who inspires me to work out and eat healthy!

1) I am thankful that my father-in-law, Don, was able to join us this Thanksgiving as he just had surgery to remove a brain tumor. He seems to be doing well!
2) I am thankful that the nurses at Meriter Hospital have been so great to us. When I lost my baby son this year, I dealt with many doctors and even more nurses–everyone was caring and compassionate. They truly love their jobs and want to help people as much as they can.
3) Having gone through that experience, I am even more grateful that I have one great kid, Rowan, who is 4 and full of life. I am honored that we get to be her family here on earth.
4) I am grateful for my husband, family, and friends and always amazed at the intricacy of personal connections. We all live in an interconnected web.
5) And yes, I am grateful to have taken bootcamp classes with Dustin! I have lost 7 lbs (I only needed to lose about 13 total) and I feel so much better about myself. I have been eating much healthier and have cut out a bunch of refined sugar, which has also helped.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!
