Michael Phelps helping kids get Active: It’s all a Conspiracy

You may have seen that Phelps has teamed up with Kellogs to encourage kids to increase their activity levels.  I applaud their efforts, since the kids of this generation spend so much more time in front of the TV, playing video games, and eating highly processed junk food.  It is no wonder why kids are getting so fat.

The problem that I have with Phelps endorsements is that his pictures are on the cereal boxes of Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, and other Kellogs products.  Kellogs has no interest in helping kids, if they did they would immediately stop selling parents and kids sugar ladened crap that has very little nutritional value, and focus on providing healthier, less processed and more natural ingredients.  It is amazing how much of this world is dictated by money at the expense of healthy and wellness.

Don’t even get me started with Phelp’s endorsement of McDonalds!

Female Fat Loss: Why you shouldn’t do crunches

As a new mom wanting to get a flat stomach, I see women doing endless crunches… This is the worst thing possible for them.  I worked with a mother who did just that and had a 4 finger separation in her abdomen because the outer abdominal muscles (rectus abdominus) were pulled too far apart from pregnancy and never given a chance to be pulled in.  In this video Jill and I will demonstrate an amazing exercise that can help pull that stomach back in!

Female Fat Loss: Bootcamps

I run a lot of Fitness Bootcamps and I think they are so great!  Working out outside is great, but more than that, being surrounded by like-minded individuals who cheer each other on and support one another.  The results I have seen from these classes have been amazing.  So if you are in the Madison area please check out the different camp www.madisonbootcamps.com  If you aren’t in the Madison area search for a local bootcamp in your area!  I promise you won’t be dissapointed.  Here is a video of a promo for mine.

Fit Moms For Life: Don’t do crunches!

I see so many people doing endless crunches in hope of achieving a  flat stomach.  First off all, the main reason your stomach isn’t where you want it to be isn’t because your abs aren’t strong enough, it is because there is too much fat hiding the muscles.

So many women do crunches after having a baby.  This is the worst thing for them because their abdominal wall has been stretched from pregnancy and crunches will only make the problem worse!  Watch this video clip to see a couple great ways to train the abs to help pull the stomach in.

Female Fat Loss: 1000 Calorie Challenge

In order for women to lose weight, they must comsume low caloric dense foods that fill you up, but aren’t filled with calories.  In the NBC fat loss segment, I show how much oatmeal it would take to eat 1000 calories.  Yet at the same time, it is hard to escape a restraunt without eating 1000 cals.

Female Fat Loss

I am on NBC talking about the fact that women who think they are going to get bulky are mistaken.  Lifting weights, and heavy weights at that, will build long lean muscle and won’t bulk a woman up.  Female fat loss is something that has been greatly misunderstood.  Watch the video and see for yourself.
